Team USA Celebration at the Washington Hilton: Project Spotlight

Team USA hosted a celebration of Olympic and Paralympic sports at the Washington Hilton and reached out to the team at Heritage Signs & Displays to brand the hotel with vinyl wall wraps celebrating athletes in both Olympic and Paralympic sports. Team USA chose to collaborate with Heritage given our experience executing the production and installation of signs and graphics for events in Washington, DC.



Celebrating Team USA with Engaging Graphics that Transformed the Meeting Space

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), also known as Team USA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights, safety, and wellness of athletes in Olympic and Paralympic sports. The USOPC oversees the bids for U.S. cities to host the Olympic/Paralympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, and Pan/Parapan American Games.

A Celebration of Olympic and Paralympic Athletes in the Nation’s Capital

The goal of Team USA’s event was to highlight athletes who participate in a variety of Olympic and Paralympic sports. The event was to be attended by the featured athletes as well as the Washington, DC press covering the celebration. The Washington Hilton needed to be branded according to the featured athletes and their associated sports. Team USA collaborated closely with the Heritage team to implement the event branding that contributed to a memorable night for the athletes being celebrated and the media in attendance.



Communication between Heritage and Team USA was critical to executing the vision for the event. A site survey was conducted to ensure that the materials required would be suitable for a large-scale event in such a significant venue. Some of the signage materials for the gala included retractable banners, backdrops, meter boards, lenticular wall displays, floor graphics, wall graphics, and column wraps in the hotel lobby, ballrooms, conference areas, and hallways.

The weekend celebration took place from May 1 to May 4 and involved three phases, Gala, Summit, and Give Back. The Heritage team arrived late Saturday night following the dismissal of the White House Correspondents Dinner at the venue. The team proceeded to install the backdrops, wall, and column wraps throughout the floors and surfaces of the hotel’s interior. In addition, the Team USA logo, a lenticular wall display highlighting the U.S. Olympic team in Tokyo and the U.S. Paralympic team in Beijing, and additional branding adorned the walls and provided ideal opportunities for group photos in select spots.

The space was large enough to represent athletes and para-athletes across sports as diverse as swimming, fencing, surfing, baseball, volleyball, track, golf, skiing, and numerous others. The scope of the work was significant given the size of this prominent conference facility at the Washington Hilton. In addition, the Heritage team installed wall wraps for the Toyota-sponsored Athlete Lounge giving athletes private space from the main activities of the events.

Creating an Inspiring Venue to Recognize Team USA

The Heritage install team worked throughout the night to complete the event branding of the Washington Hilton in time for Team USA to begin welcoming athletes on Sunday morning and festivities Monday through Thursday. Representatives from Team USA were thrilled with the results of Heritage’s efforts. Effective collaboration between the three organizations allowed the hotel’s interior to be transformed to recognize athletes who participate in a variety of Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Ready to Work by Indeed – Experiential Event: Project Spotlight

Experiential Event: Project Spotlight

Heritage Signs & Displays collaborated with the branding professionals at The Gathery to brand the interior space of the Union Market in Washington, DC as part of the Ready to Work coalition by Indeed. Our team of sign pros created and installed eye-catching event displays and wall graphics to brand the space and nurture an immersive experience out of a familiar space in Washington, DC.

The Gathery is an editorially-born creative agency based out of Brooklyn, New York that specializes in experiential marketing and content creation. The agency was contacted by Indeed’s Ready to Work coalition in time for the Fall 2022 job fair in downtown Washington, DC. The Ready to Work coalition is dedicated to connecting employers with qualified candidates and providing a hub for job seekers to find fulfilling work.

Event Signs

The Gathery contacted the team at Heritage Signs & Displays to fabricate new event signs for the upcoming job fair. As a leading sign shop in the Washington DC Area with a special emphasis on event backdrops and interior signs, our sign makers were eager to work with these leading brands for this exciting event.

Window Graphics

The job fair required a complete branding of the Union Market space in which the event was to be hosted, which required a variety of interior signage elements on multiple floors of the building’s interior. Window graphics made from adhesive vinyl were custom printed, rectangularly cut, and applied to the front windows, upper windows, and lower windows. Union Market sits just outside of the NoMa Neighborhood, east of Downtown Washington, DC, Penn Quarter, and Adams Morgan Neighborhoods, and north of the Capitol Hill Neighborhood and H-Street Corridor.

Window Graphics

The graphics on the upstairs floor were applied to both the windows and surrounding walls to match the Ready to Work branding. The window perf vinyl allowed for a seamlessly blending of the wall and window graphics without obstructing the window views.

Adhesive Vinyl Graphics

On the main floor of the Union Market, wall graphics were created displaying the Ready to Work logo. Adhesive vinyl graphics were latex printed, contour cut, and applied to the walls of the Union Market’s interior. Some wall wraps served as wayfinding signs to label the restrooms, entrances, exits, and other areas of the space in a visually appealing way that was still maintaining the event branding.

Custom Event Displays

Additional double-sided custom event displays were fabricated from foam core. They were UV printed, rectangle cut, and assembled to be freestanding signage to direct and inform attendees about the event itself, as well as additional features and services of the Ready to Work coalition. The other event sponsors were highlighted on boards made from cardstock and installed in strategic locations throughout the event space.

Sign Installation

Upon completion of the sign installation, the space was ready for the Ready to Work job fair, having been branded with appealing signage that enhanced the venue and reflected the sponsors in a visually captivating way. Both the setup and removal processes were accomplished using Heritage’s commitment to transparency and rapid turnaround times at all steps of the process. One of the representatives from The Gathery said that the Heritage team was “extremely efficient, precise with their work, kind and helpful. Hope to work with them again in the future.”

Military Women’s Memorial: Project Spotlight

Military Women’s Memorial: Project Spotlight

Heritage Signs & Displays recently added brand new custom signs to the interior of the Military Women’s Memorial in Arlington, VA. The interior wallscapes were produced and installed to reflect the legacy of the memorial and the donors through the years who have made it possible.

Since 1997, the Military Women’s Memorial has honored the brave women who have served in the United States Military. Over three million women have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and the Military Women’s Memorial proudly highlights these centuries of service by generations of brave American women. The Women in Military Service for America Memorial is located on the western end of Memorial Avenue at the entrance of Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington County, Virginia.

Heritage Signs & Displays was contacted to create and install new signage for the memorial. As a veteran-owned company and a company local to the Washington, DC area, we have been honored to devote our skills and talents to this organization’s mission of highlighting and remembering the service of women in the military.

Military Women’s Memorial: Project Spotlight

The new signage at the Military Women’s Memorial involved several elements in different parts of the interior space. One of the most outstanding features of the updated memorial interior was the Our Legacy wall display, which honors the donors who contributed to the establishment of the memorial itself as well as the original theater, now known as the Vaught Center. 12” tall dimensional letters proudly displaying the words Our Legacy were installed above the custom cut color block panels. Each panel displayed a donor’s name, which was latex printed on adhesive vinyl, cut to shape, and installed.

Wall Wraps

Additional signage elements included wall wraps, which were latex printed and rectangularly cut. The wall wraps featured quotes from former servicewomen who were also members of the Military Women’s Memorial.

Custom Displays

Two types of custom displays were created to serve as wall panels highlighting the history of women in the U.S. military, with standoff mounted signs added to each panel to add a three-dimensional effect. Each panel was UV printed, cut to shape, and installed flush to wall. Additional wall panels featuring the Changing face of Courage series of watercolor paintings by artist Dave Rappaport were created from 3mm white PVC and were installed in the main lobby area of the memorial.

Military Women’s Memorial: Project Spotlight

The results of the new signage were transformative and impactful because they highlighted the legacy of the U.S. servicewomen honored in the Military Women’s Memorial, as well as the future of women in the U.S. Armed Forces. The representatives from the Military Women’s Memorial were very pleased with the results and are eager to continue their active relationship with our talented team of sign makers and installation professionals.
